Your Neighbor in Real Estate: Finish Line Pride

Finish Line Pride

Russ Miller Memorial 5K RunFinish Line Pride

There is always a time when you think “ I can’t reach that goal “ or “I can’t run in a 5K.”

Well look at the smile here, at the finish line, where my daughter has run her first 5K.

It was in the annual “Run for Russ” Russ Miller Memorial 5K Run and Community Walk which was held today. My daughter, a parole officer, participated in this event.

Officer Russell M. Miller Sr., a 12-year veteran of the Chino Police Department, died in the line of duty on February 1, 2000.   Officer Miller was involved in a routine traffic stop, and while approaching the stopped vehicle, was struck from behind by a second vehicle, driven by a subject who was under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.

Officer Miller, also a Navy veteran, was married, and the father of three children.

The annual event is held on the first Saturday in February. The Chino Police Association has established a memorial fund for the Miller family.

Now that is a sad story...about the police officer. I don't think we do enough for our public service people like those in law enforcement. They put their life on the line for us everyday.

That picture of your daughter is one to be proud of. I personally did two 5k's this year. Both for good causes. I love helping out a good cause.

Thanks to you and your daughter for your support of a great cause.  Going the extra mile, so to speak, is something that will be greatly appreciated by the family of the fallen officer.

Good for her that is quite an accomplishment.  I can see mom is quite proud of her.

What a wonderful thing for your daughter to do, and what a wonderful cause. You have every right to express your pride for raising such a fabulous and caring daughter. Congrats to both of you.

I'm sorry for the loss of Russ Miller, I hope that these sorts of fundraisers bring awareness to the issue.

Hi Pacita, thank you for your kind words. She had fun, I think.

Hi Tom, you're right! By doing this every year, it keeps it at the forefront.
