Your Neighbor in Real Estate: Today Is Graduation Day in Oxnard Calif - And I Got An "F"

Today Is Graduation Day in Oxnard Calif - And I Got An "F"
Oxnard Real EstateOxnard Realtor
Oxnard, California and the Oxnard Real Estate Market Place is located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

Today is Graduation Day for many of the local high Schools. Congratulations to the many graduates and to their proud and long supporting families.

The "F" I received today is the FaceBook F. I have been here approximately 3 months and have learned so much. There is absolutely a learning curve with each triumph that I have achieved.

Let me itemize them for you as I cannot believe it myself.

  •   The Blog Phenomena
  •   The Comment Dance
  •   Blogging Everyday for one month
  •   The Feature and the Star.
  •   Almost 45,000 points - that's  15000 points per month

I have a plan. The above encompasses some parts of the plan. This week I tackled the FaceBook Business page. And there I met with another learning process. I thought you just got a page. Simple, right? Nooooo. You need the "like" in order to be able to name your page - at least 25. Then when I went around liking some other pages, I noticed some of them are "spiffied up." What?? How do I do that?

Next on my agenda will be the wordpress blog. Then the LinkedIn puzzle. I know nothing about these two, so I will be scouring the ActiveRain pages where I will find the great resources that I have come to depend on. And I will learn and I will achieve!

Will I then be a real Rain Realtor? I thought I was one before, but with all the new technology...things 'they are a-changin.'

So back to the "F."  It is down below, near my mugshot. You can click on it now, and it will take you to my business page..(don't judge...I haven't upgraded it yet) and you can like it, if you please. I need 25 likes, thank you very much.

Onward and Upward!!

Well, Sandi, I visited your fan page as #11.  Good luck.  Seeing your title reminded me of my brother receiving and 'F' in conduct many years ago.  He tried to convince my father that 'F' was for fabulous 'Fisher,' our last name.  Unfortunately for my brother Dad didn't agree.

Good post as always.

Mary, Your brother sounds like a character and funny too. Thanks for your prompt liking! Have a great weekend.

I visited your page and was #!3.  Take each techy thing one step at a time.  Master Facebook then move on to LinkedIn, then move on to Twitter and whatever else there is out there.  I do recommend for your Facebook page that you go to and create a Welcome page for you Facebook business page.  It can be the landing page.  Once you get the 25 likes be careful about committing to a URL.  Once you give it a URL, you can't change it.   I found this out after I got the 25 likes and gave my WALL the vanity URL.  After that I found and wished I would have known about that so I could have a short URL to my Welcome page.  Just learing as I go but want to share what I have learned.  Good Luck!  I did put my link to my FB page on your FB page.  If you could click and Like, that would be appreciated.  I am working towards 100 likes.  Also, look for the group on AR - Facebook Friday.  That is a sure way of getting your Likes up!

Sandi - I just went to like your page, but first I searched for "Prudential California Realty" and there are other FaceBook Business pages with the same name.  You may want to change your FB name or be the first to claim this FB name once you get to 25.  There is already a page with that name that has 526 likes, but they have not claimed the name.

Hi Dolores, Thanks for the recommendations and the information. There is always so much to know, and it is great that everyone here is so willing to help. And I already did the liking thing for you.

Hi Laura, I knew that there were other Prudential pages, but how did you know about the name not being claimed? Thanks for the info.

Hi Kim, Thanks for willing to be a resource. Like I said to Dolores, there is so much to learn. It is probably second nature to you.

I need a tutorial on Facebook.  When you have gone through the process write a blog about what you did so we can all learn what to do.  And please email me the URL for the blog in case I miss it.  Take care.

Hi Evelyn, Thanks for the kind words when you liked my FB page. I'll let you know if I write that blog. I don't know if I know what I did, but I'll try.

Hi Sandi, I Liked your Page and you have reached your goal, but keep up the good work. There is just so much to learn in Active Rain. There are just so many things that need improvement, and Active Rain is the BEST place to learn how to do many of these items.

Sandi, I am right there with you!! AR is my first venture into online anything (besides my fledgling website) and fb and twit are beyond me, I am on 'Linked in', but that's all I know, I don't know how to add people or why, what to do with my profile on there; so if you keep teaching class I'll be in attendance! Thanx! :^D
