This city, with its unusual name, is home to a Strawberry Festival that every year draws thousands to our fair city. It ranks as one of the top festivals in the nation and draws visitors from all over the country.

From music concerts to pie throwing, from arts and crafts vendors to food vendors, and from kiddie rides to the best tasting strawberries you'll ever taste, the festival invites you.

There are two stages that host a variety of musical tastes from Reggae, to Latin pop, to big band swing.

strawberry2There will be over 200 Arts and crafts booths for your shopping pleasure. There are recipe contests, involving strawberries, of course and a Celebrity Chef cooking demonstration.

How about learning to grow your own strawberry garden and produce by FOOD SHARE. They will have samples of yummy strawberry salsa and a take home recipe for when your garden is ready.

Strawberryland for Kids has free rides and puppet shows.

Avoid the crowd.There is a free shuttle available as parking on site costs $10.00.


"The California Strawberry Festival celebrates the region’s rich agricultural heritage while raising funds for numerous Southland charities. Since its inception, over $3 million dollars has been collected to benefit others. Twenty-four companies harvest and cool more than 207,646 tons of sweet berries in the area from 11,538 acres with annual revenues topping $300 million to ship them worldwide from the region, known as California’s Strawberry Coast.".... from the festival website.
